Well, the cold moved in this week. For some, this may not be a particularly big deal; however, the cold and I have never gotten along. There is just something about it that makes me angry. Perhaps it is because it can beat you up and you can’t do anything about it.
America is divided, not because we disagree, but because we have forgotten just how important those disagreements are to the core foundation of our country. We were built on the idea that differing ideas, beliefs, and viewpoints would make this country great. That freedom to have those beliefs would keep us alive!
We must learn to replace our instinctual reaction to fear with the constant action of praying and laying down our burdens at the feet of Jesus. When we replace fear with prayer, God promises to bring us peace and to guard our hearts and minds against the destructive consequences of fear.
We see perfectly scripted lives play out in real-time on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. After watching and scrolling past countless pictures of manufactured happiness, wealth, and success, we believe ourselves unworthy. But, our real lives have so much more to offer!
The battle for our mind is a fight that most of us are familiar with. We all fall prey to self-judgment and the belief that we are not worthy. We all struggle to stay positive, keep motivated, and turn away the darker thoughts that want to take control of our lives by spreading lies that taint our minds with negative ideas about ourselves and our circumstances.
